In recent years the hosta has become the number one perennial plant in the United States. Having foliage of blue, gold, green, or white, with or without variegation, makes the hosta a versatile plant. Leaves range from less than one inch to more than 20 inches across.
Hosta ‘Powder Blue’ was originated by H. Sugita and P. Ruh and introduced by P. Ruh in 1998. It’s classified as a large hosta with unknown parentage. ‘Powder Blue’ has a moderate growth rate and reaches a height of about 27 inches with a width of 38 inches.
