The NWHS established and maintains the Dahl-Roeder Memorial Garden in southwest corner of Wilson Park, Menomonie, WI. With our inactivity during COVID, it has been years since we have had a cleanup day and our lack of attention has resulted in the garden needing some major work. We are going to begin the revamp with a weeding day to try and get the crabgrass under control followed in a few weeks with a garden overhaul day to tackle the maple roots and replant hostas.
For those who can make it, we plan to spend 2 1/2 hours weeding followed by a club sponsored lunch. Bring weeding tools, bags for the weeds, and perhaps a shovel and broom.
We appreciate Jan Harvey keeping this garden looking great over the summer for years, but with recent life events has not been able to keep up with the invading maple roots and crab grass.
