H. ‘Dancing Queen’

Hosta blossoms range from dark purple to white, and are born on scapes, lasting for several weeks. New hostas develop when some cultivars set seed or when a plant ‘sports’. A hosta sport is a change in leaf pattern or color which occurs in an existing plant.
Hosta ‘Dancing Queen’ was introduced by K. Terpening in 2005. It come from an original seedling with pod parent H. ‘Split Personality’ and pollen parent unknown. Dancing Queen reaches a height of about 18 inches and a width of 30 inches. See the full characteristics in the Hosta Treasury.

What was different form last year, we only put on 3 yards of mulch instead of the way overestimated 5 yards last year where members ended up taking mulch home. We are also trying something new this year, we put down extended Preen in hopes we can control some of the weeds. We finished with a short club meeting discussing future events.
